Recap of the Pre-Conference Workshop: SAFE AND SOUND 2024
The pre-conference workshops, SAFE AND SOUND 2024, officially began on December 2, 2024, and spanned three intensive days of learning and collaboration. The event was inaugurated by Professor Đặng Hoàng Minh, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. In her opening remarks, she highlighted the importance of the upcoming sessions in advancing professional knowledge and skills.

The workshop introduced Teaching Recovery Techniques, a group intervention method designed for children who have experienced trauma. Rooted in cognitive-behavioral techniques, this accessible approach has been formalized into a structured guide to support trauma recovery in children effectively.

The session focused on how early adverse experiences—such as malnutrition, violence, lack of healthcare, and inadequate caregiving—can significantly impact a child's lifelong development and well-being. The experts also emphasized the unique opportunities that childhood provides for positive interventions to mitigate risks and foster resilience.

Expert: Professor Dr. Silvana Markovska Simoska
This session explored cutting-edge practices rooted in brain activity to address Autism Spectrum Disorders. Participants were introduced to advanced EEG and ERP techniques, blending neuroscience, clinical science, and nanotechnology. Practical training sessions enabled participants to gain hands-on experience in EEG and ERP recording and analysis. The workshop was hosted at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital and warmly welcomed by the hospital staff.
The workshop provided a dynamic platform for academic engagement, featuring in-depth knowledge sharing from enthusiastic and highly skilled experts.
SAFE AND SOUND 2024 reaffirmed its commitment to creating an academic space for learning the latest developments in mental health care. Conference Recap - SAFE AND SOUND 2024
On December 5-6, 2024, the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UEd), in collaboration with Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, hosted the International Conference on “Child and Family Well-Being for a Sustainable Future.” The event took place at the iconic Ngụy Như Kon Tum Hall of the University of Science, VNU, Hanoi.
