Winter school in Hanoi

Since 2016, INN University has had a collaboration with Vietnam National University (VNU) around strengthening teaching on topic around children’s upbringing and adverse childhood experiences.

In 2019, INN University received funds from HKdir’s NORPART programme. Kerstin Söderström is project manager and Moa Nyamwathi Lønning is assistant project manager, both from the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Department of Social Sciences and Guidance.

Finally, after years with restrictions related to Covid-19, it has been possible to carry out the long-planned winter school under the heading Safe & Sound – Childhood adversity, health and development.

In the days between 3-13 January 2023, three workshops will be held where 60 participants will learn methods to support children and young people who have experienced great stress. The winter school is organized together with the project’s Norwegian partner, the Center for Crisis Psychology, University of Bergen.

The winter school was opened at VNU’s new Hoa Lac Campus by Professor Nguyen Quy Thanh, rector of VNU University of Education, and Mette Møglestue, Charge de Affairs at the Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi, who emphasized the importance of academic bilateral cooperation of this type.
